Oh how I miss Lee Strobel’s show Faith Under Fire. It was on for two short seasons, but it was a lot of fun to watch. This is one segment of one of those episodes consisting of a dialog between skeptic and historian Richard Carrier and Christian Philosopher William Lane Craig. In this very brief conversation, the discuss the main points of Craig’s argument for the Resurrection. I’ve posted Craig’s Resurrection Method previously (here, here, and here), but in this particular discussion he adds an additional point as he leads off with the premise Jesus was executed by crucifixion. I apologize for the poor quality of the video, but it is still a lively discussion.

William Lane Craig and Richard Carrier on Faith Under Fire (7:15)

This is the first debate between Mike Licona and Richard Carrier from 2004. They debate on the topic of the Resurrection. I choose this particular debate today because this evening they have their second debate at Washburn University in Topeka, KS. Tonight’s debate is titled “Did Jesus Rise from the Dead?” Hopefully it will be recorded so that I can post it at a later date. Please be praying for Mike this evening while he tackles this subject. While he may not be able to persuade Richard this evening (although you never know, Antony Flew was eventually swayed), there will be a room of young collegiate minds that will be in attendance and they could very well be moved to belief in Christ.

One week from today Mike Licona will be debating Richard Carrier. In light of that, for the next week I will be posting items specific to either Mike or Richard. This is a 2-hour debate between Mike Licona and Bart Ehrman that took place in April 2009 at Southern Evangelical Seminary (SES). The debate has been broken up into roughly 4, 30-minute segments. This ought to make it easier to digest without having to commit 2 hours up front.
